Web Link analysis of Selected Documentation Centres in India: A Webometric Study

At present, internet has become part of life in human beings life. It would be hard to imagine the world without internet. We would have never seen a world as it is now without the medium. So, there is a greater importance to internet in both personal life and professional life of an individual. Internet is now a gigantic library that is composed of documents, files, images, videos, content and websites. Unlimited amount of data is added regularly to the library from different mediums and in different formats. As large number of users of documentation centres depends upon web content, the researcher here attempts to analyse websites of 12 documentation centres located in India. The analysis includes assessing the total no. of webpages, self-link pages, external link pages, web impact factor (WIF) etc. These parameters have been measured and compared together. Finally, the researcher concluded by revealing strong findings of the study and has made some recommendations too.
